What are Wedges Bakery's opening hours?

Our Hockley Heath bakery is open Monday to Saturday from 8:00am to 4:00pm, and Sunday from 8:30am to 3:00pm. Our Dovehouse Parade shop in Solihull is open Monday to Saturday from 8:30am to 4:00pm, and Sunday from 9:30am to 3:00pm. Hours may vary on bank holidays.

Our Dovehouse Parade shop at 387 Warwick Road, Solihull (B91 1BQ) is conveniently located just off the main road, easily accessible from Solihull town centre. Street parking is available directly outside.

Yes. Our Hockley Heath bakery has free parking at the front and rear of the shop. Our Dovehouse Parade shop in Solihull has street parking available directly outside on Warwick Road.

Do you take card payments?

Accepted Answer

Yes: both shops take cash, Visa and Mastercard debit and credit cards, and contactless payments (including Apple Pay and Google Pay). There's no minimum spend on card. We don't currently accept American Express.

Yes. Our Hockley Heath bakery has indoor and outdoor seating, and our Dovehouse Parade café in Solihull has a small sit-in area too. Everything on our menu can be eaten in or taken away.

Well-behaved dogs on a lead are very welcome on our outdoor seating area at Hockley Heath. We'll happily bring a bowl of water out. For food-hygiene reasons, dogs aren't allowed inside either shop. Assistance dogs are of course welcome anywhere.

Neither shop has a public customer toilet: we're both compact village/parade premises focused on the bakery counter and a small sit-in area.

We have a high chair available at our Hockley Heath bakery for little ones eating in, just ask the team and we'll get it set up. We don't have baby-change facilities at either shop.

We don't currently offer customer Wi-Fi at our Dovehouse Parade café. Most customers find 4G/5G coverage on Warwick Road is plenty for a quick coffee stop.

We bake a wide selection of cakes, slices and pastries fresh every morning, displayed in the cabinets at both shops: pop in, choose what you fancy, and take it away or eat in. We don't take orders for custom or celebration cakes, but for catering platters (sandwich, savoury or sweet selections) please give us at least 2 days notice by phone or email.

No, we don't make bespoke, custom or wedding cakes to order. We focus on the freshly baked cabinet selection we sell every day at our Hockley Heath bakery and Dovehouse Parade café in Solihull. If you need something for a special occasion, our catering platters of sweet treats are a popular alternative.

We don't take orders for personalised birthday cakes. The cakes you'll find at Wedges are our daily-changing cabinet selection (gateau slices, brownies, traybakes, tarts, scones and more) perfect for sharing on the day. Call your nearest shop ahead of your visit and we'll let you know what's in today.

You can usually expect classics like cake wedges, gateau slices, cheesecake, brownies, flapjacks, scones and pastries. Give your nearest shop a quick call before visiting if you have your heart set on something specific.

Yes, we offer catering for events, parties, office lunches and special occasions. We can prepare sandwich platters, buffets, savoury selections, cakes, pastries and additional fruit, salad, meat, cheese or bread platters on request. Please give us a minimum of 2 days notice and contact us to discuss your requirements and receive a tailored quote.

We ask for a minimum of 2 days' notice on all catering orders so we can buy in fresh, prep and bake everything on the morning of your event. For larger orders or busy weeks (Christmas, Easter, school holidays), give us a week or more if you can.

Wedges traces its roots to the bakehouse founded by Edwin Dyer in Hockley Heath in 1850. The Heptinstall family has owned the bakery since 2013 and continues the tradition of fresh baking for the local community.

Accepted Answer

Yes: we sell paper gift vouchers in store at both shops. They can be spent on anything we sell at either location and are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Pop in and ask at the counter about the available values.
