Life at Wedges

Wedges has been part of village life in Hockley Heath since 1850, and the people behind the counter and the ovens are the heart of it. We are a small, family-run team, and we hire for attitude as much as experience — friendly, reliable people who take pride in good food and in looking after our customers.

Most of what we sell is made from scratch on-site, so whether you join us as a baker starting before dawn or behind the counter welcoming the morning regulars, you are part of something genuinely handmade. Our hours suit people who like an early start and their evenings free — there are no late nights and no split shifts. Many of our team have been with us for years, and we are always happy to train up people who are new to baking or hospitality.

We typically take on front-of-house counter staff, bakers, and kitchen team members across our Hockley Heath and Dovehouse Parade shops, with both full-time and part-time hours available through the year. Even when nothing is listed below, we keep every application on file and get in touch the moment a suitable role comes up.
